“We’re so excited that proceeds from this race will inspire the next generation of runners, which is an important part of P3R’s commitment to promote the love of running and enhancing community access to health & fitness,” said Patrice Matamoros, P3R CEO. “Money raised through this event will help the program reach more underserved communities and ensure that every child has the opportunity to participate in Kids of STEEL.”

Since 2010, more than 24,000 children in Western Pennsylvania have learned what it takes to be a Kid of STEEL. The program currently has 150 sites in Allegheny, Beaver, Blair, Butler, Erie, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties.

More than 4,000 runners are expected for the Nov. 5 race, which takes runners on a scenic tour of Pittsburgh, crossing bridges and finishing in Downtown. For more information about the 2017 EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler, visit www.Pittsburgh10Miler.org.
