Free app allows pre-recorded messages from family and friends to play during the race on Sunday, Oct. 25
When the miles get tough, runners can now turn to a new mobile app calledMotigo for motivation at this year’s EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler on Sunday, Oct. 25. The free app gives runners the opportunity to hear pre-recorded cheers from family and friends, as well as listen to an audio tour during the race.
Motigo works with runners’ favorite running and music apps and lets supporters record personalized audio well wishes that automatically play for runners during the race. The event has partnered with Motigo to create its own race day audio tour of the 10-mile course, which starts at Station Square, crosses four bridges and finishes at EQT Plaza on Liberty Avenue in Downtown Pittsburgh.
“Motigo helps us connect our runners with their biggest supporters on race day,” said Dee Stathis, Chief Operations Officer/Director of Operations of P3R, which manages the event. “And beyond the cheers, we’re excited to develop an Audio Tour that provides runners with fun, engaging content that enhances the race day experience.”
The app also has the ability to convey important course information, whether it’s for safety or help the runners better understand what’s coming up ahead.
“The P3R team is truly focused on delighting the participants and spectators,” saidDan Nagler, co-founder of Motigo. “With the Audio Tour we’ve created together, the running community can take in the charm, personality and history of the course and the Steel City. Plus runners will be able to be hear cheers from start-to-finish, with personalized audio messages from friends and family from across the country and world.”
Runners can download Motigo today for their iOS devices and select the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler. Plus, those recording messages can also do so via the “Record Cheers” link at www.getmotigo.com.
